Ave Maria by Caccini
for Flute (or Violin) and Harp

A stunning melody and exciting arrangement, one of my favorites to perform in concert.

Presented in Three Versions:
Pedal Harp version as recorded on “A Merry Little Christmas” by Rosewynde: Sandy Duffy Norman, Flute, Kathryn Cater, Harp.
Starts in F minor (four flats) and modulates to G minor (two flats). Comes with a flute part as well as a transposition for B flat instrument.

Pedal Harp, violin friendly (VF) version: In G minor (two flats) with a modulation to A minor includes C Melody Instrument part and B flat Melody Instrument part. For a versatile score that is accessible to strings as well as woodwind melody instruments, the violin (VF) version is recommended.

Lever Harp version: in two flats (G minor) without key changes. Includes C Melody instrument part and B flat Melody instrument. It is very similar, but not identical, to the pedal harp score. The melody parts to go with the lever harp score also remain in one key. There are several lever changes, but the arrangement allows time to make those changes.

There is some distraction as to the true identity of the composer of this piece. Whatever you believe, it was a joy to arrange, and is exciting to perform.

This recording is available on our “Merry Little Christmas” CD, and as a digital download on Amazon and Itunes. You may also order the CD through this website or on Amazon. Thank you for supporting our work!
